Define & Align Your Values at the Studio
University of Tennessee Chattanooga identified shared core values within the team during a strategy session held at Bridge Innovate®. Our studio strives to provide space and programming that brings leaders together to grow through connections and community.
Challenge
The UTC team recently experienced staffing transitions with a third of their team being new hires. They needed a way to onboard these new team members and align their goals, along with an inspirational space without the distractions of everyday demands.
Solution
Bridge Innovate offers offsite space and development that fosters connection and learning for your team. The Bridge team helped develop the agenda for the day and facilitated a two-hour training on values exercises. Our Studio and Leadership Program Manager is trained and certified in the Leadership Challenge, a globally recognized leadership development program. She helped the team articulate personal and team values as well as identify behaviors and commitments that would champion those values. Her facilitation provided space for the whole team to participate fully.
Result
With guidance from the Bridge team in building the agenda and facilitation during the meeting, the day was a great success. The design of the exercises engaged the whole group. Members had conversations around their values, hearing stories and feedback from each other. By beginning the day with identifying their shared values, the table was set for meaningful discussions about ways to learn and grow stronger together with clear commitments to use as guideposts along the way.
